Scans from Italy just came in from Photovision and I am reliving every moment. Our trip began with four days in Florence, and we brought along Fiona. This was her second trip to Florence and it was pretty awesome to revisit some of our fave spots and eateries with a 2.5 year in tow! The first time we came she was pretty much confined to her stroller.
One of my most favorite places in Firenze is Boboli gardens and the day we visited was probably the height of heat wave Lucifer..yes you heard that right. It was straight up unbearable but once we got to the top…well the scans speak for themselves.
A few highlights that we’ll want to remember as a family and would love to share : the duomo (see it at morning, at afternoon, at night); a horse and carriage ride through the Piazza del duomo at 7AM (time change is REAL and esp. brutal with a 2 yr. old); meeting up with good friends at Vini e Vecchi Sapori (read about this Osteria here) and ending the night drinking wine on a rooftop deck. Yes, we brought the two year old. We hiked the Boboli garden area in 105 degree heat, camped out in a medieval fortress during torrential rain and people-watched our way through our short time in Florence. It was amazing, and too quick.
We love you, Firenze, see you in 2 years!
